I don’t think I ever told the story about how the hubster and I met. And if I have, I’m telling it again. Why? Because it’s my blog and I’ll do what I want to!
The hubster and I met 13 years ago. Yes, 13 years ago! We were set up on a blind date by two mutual friends. You see, the hubster is shy. Very, very shy. He was a senior in High School and it was prom time. He needed a date. His friend was dating a good friend of mine. She thought we would be a perfect pair!
A week before prom {yes, a week}, we went out on a triple date {dinner and movie}. The guys picked us up at my friend’s house. When the guys walked in, I thought for sure the blonde was my date. Not that quiet, shy brown-haired boy who couldn’t even make eye contact!
Wrong-o! The brown-haired boy was all mine. What the hell, I figured. It’s only dinner and a movie and I get to go to prom.
In between our date and the prom, I had to run around like a banshee finding a dress, figuring out what to do with my hair, etc. The big day rolled around. He picked me up, met my parents, and off we went. We had a great time at the prom. I tried to drag him out of his shell {it worked a little} but he was still being quiet and shy.
After the prom, his school was hosting a lock in. Yes, friends, I spent the night with the hubster on our second date {for shame!}. Even though we were sleep deprived and looking for a way to break out, we had a blast! All of us! It really gave us time to get to know each other and relax a bit.
When the hubster dropped me off in the morning, I thought “He’s not that bad. I can work with this.” And when he asked if he could take me out to dinner {just the two of us} later in the week, I jumped at the chance.
And, as they say, the rest is history!
