In case you were living under a rock, last week, I was in New York City attending the BlogHer ’12 conference. It was such a great time with great people and great food.
The food. I mean, after all, we are talking about New York City here. There are amazing restaurants and even more amazing food trucks. And they were all calling my name.
I went into this trip knowing that there was no way on this green Earth that I was going to be able to stay on plan 100%. I knew it wasn’t going to happen. And I was ok with that. As my good friend, Kelly, says “It’s not a cheat. It’s a choice.”
I choose to eat the Magnolia Bakery cupcake {mmm…red velvet}.
I chose to inhale Starbucks.
I chose to have the most amazing slice of pizza.
I chose to have pasta!
I chose to get right back on plan this morning!
And that is what I love the most about this plan. It’s all about choices. And if you chose to stray off course for a weekend, you know you can hop right back on and get down to business.
So what’s the damage?

I am glad you had fun at Blogher : )
I have so much of that medifast stuff but it tastes so bad to me. I am glad you like it and it is good for you : )
Two pounds for the extra eating isn’t bad at all! I go ‘off grid’ every now and again and eat ‘badly’ for a few days but what’s great is a few days of extra water and counting calories again and I’m back where I was. Glad you enjoyed it and made the most of the great food!!
You didn’t do that bad!! I agree… there is so much delicious food to be had there in the NYC that you simply must try it all or at least some of it!
2 pounds is awesome at blogher!! you go girl I can wait to see how weel you do over the next few months. I loved the pizza
Wow, all of it looks so yummy! I’m glad you made the choice to indulge. NYC is a mecca of awesome food!
I don’t think you did bad at all. It helps that there was a crap load of walking and very hot weather to offset the extra food choices! Great meeting you out at BlogHer!
One of my BlogHer highlights was all the food. I never had cupcakes from the Magnolia bakery before and tried them during the trip. I could have ate 3 square meals a day there!
looks like you enjoyed yourself and now you’re ready to get back on it! good for you! i really enjoyed meeting and talking with you and Kelly at the big toy party. i’m really interested in medifast. just gotta get my butt in gear and check it out! thanks for sharing all your great info!
