Hello! Steph was kind enough to let me take over her blog today so I thought I’d share an awesome summer workout – perfect for work at home moms, time-crunched moms, and those looking to squeeze fitness into their day without giving up time with their kids – that can be done while the kids play in the sandbox!
I should introduce myself, my name is Courtney and I blog daily over at TreadmillRunway.com where I document my 100+lb weight loss and how I now fit health & fitness into my every day life while keeping up with kids, work, and household chores (okay not so much that last one!).
Let’s get right to this shall we! If you have weights grab whatever your comfortable with. If not – once you’re done reading run to the corner store and grab two 1 gallon jugs of water. If you have a yoga mat that’s great but it’s not necessary. On your phone download the free app from GYMBOSS – it’s a workout timer.
I’ve made a little video to show you some of the moves – please excuse my jungle like backyard!
The Warm-Up (1min each x 2 rounds):
- Jumping Jacks
- Mountain Climbers
- High Knees (running on the spot)
The Workout (Set Your Timer for 8 Rounds of 45 sec work, 15sec rest. Repeat x3):
- Standing Knee Raise
- Single Leg Deadlife (grab those weights!)
- Weighted Sumo Squat (grab those weights!)
- Inch Worm to Push-Up
- Front Raise (grab those weights!)
- Weighted Walking Lunge (grab those weights!)
- Prisoners (grab those weights!)
- Fron Squat / Knee Raise Combo
