Take It Off:Dining Out {Week Eight}

Medifast | Week Eight

We eat out…a lot. Probably a lot more than we should. When I first started Medifast, I swore I wasn’t going to eat out for a long, long time. I didn’t think I would have the self-control to pick the right things.

But I was wrong.

I did do have the self-control.

Since we do eat out often, I have a mental list of what each restaurant offers that is on-plan. Now, it wouldn’t be nice to keep these to myself would it? So I’m being nice today and sharing.  You don’t have to be on Medifast to enjoy the below meals. Most work with any “diet”!

A Grande Life | Dining Out with Medifast

Chili’s

  • Chicken or Steak Fajitas – minus the tortilla shells, guacamole, and sour cream. I usually add a side salad as well.
  • Classic Sirloin – Ask for it to be made with a dry rub and load up on veggies or a side salad.
  • House Salad – You can ask to add a grilled chicken breast with it. And, of course, dressing on the side.

Outback

  • Grilled Chicken on the Barbie – I ask for the BBQ sauce on the side and load up on veggies as my side.
  • Teriyaki Filet Medallions – This is my new favorite! Comes with red and green peppers. Make sure to ask for no rice {doesn’t show the rice on the menu}. I also add a side salad.
  • Green Beans – Love their green beans as a side! Make sure to ask them not to cook with butter. They put a lot of butter on them if you don’t.
  • Any steak with side veggies.
Ruby Tuesday
  • Garden Salad – I add a grilled chicken breast to this. Dressing on side, no croutons.
  • BBQ Grilled Chicken – BBQ on the side with 2 veggie sides {see below}.
  • Chicken Fresco – This is really good. I ask for no lemon butter. Comes with tomatoes and is cooked in Balsamic Vinaigrette.
  • Sides – Ruby Tuesday has awesome on-plan sides: sliced tomatoes, roasted spaghetti squash, grilled zucchini, grilled green beans. I always ask if there is butter or any marinades on the veggies.
Red Robin
  • How can you go to Red Robin and not get a burger? What I love the most about Red Robin is that you can substitute the bun for a lettuce bun! I customize my burger so it’s just beef, one slice of cheese, lettuce, and tomato.
I’m sure there are more options at the above restaurants but these are what I have tried so far {and liked}. If you have a favorite meal from a restaurant, please share in the comments!

This really makes me realize just how “normal” a change you are making can be. You’re really able to live as you had been, but with some adjustments. Excellent.
And way to go on the nearly 20 lbs! You are rocking this program, girl!
