Now that winter has settled in, our family adventures out of the house have been few and far between. It’s just too cold to leave the house and then there’s the whole bundling everyone up in their winter gear. By the time everyone’s ready to walk out the door, someone usually has to go to the bathroom and everyone else is sweating while we wait.

So instead, we stay in where it’s warm and have Family Movie Nights. We have our family movie nights down to a science at this point. Everyone has a role. My oldest gets the sleeping bags. The little one shuts the lights off like a movie theater. My husband takes care of the movie. And I do the snacks.

Our latest movie night was pretty epic! The kids have been begging to watch Hotel Transylvania 2 and, well when you are in the middle of a blizzard, you pretty much give into anything that will keep them occupied. So Hotel Transylvania 2 it was! But now we needed snacks.

You can’t watch a Monster Movie without Monster snacks and, of course, I totally outdid myself. Again.

Monster M&M’S® Bark

For this easy bark recipe, you will need (1) bag of green white chocolate melting wafers, M&M’S®, and candy eyeballs.

Melt your chocolate wafers according to the directions on the bag. Once melting, pour into a pan or cookie sheet. Smooth melted chocolate until about 1/4 inch thick.

Tap pan on counter to remove air bubbles and sprinkle on the M&M’S®!

Place your candy eyeballs into the chocolate and press down any M&M’S® that are sticking up.

Stick in the fridge to cool and harden. OR if it just snowed 3 feet like it did here, place in the snow to cool!

Once cooled and harden, gently break apart your bark!

Now that you have your M&M’S® bark ready, it’s time to make some Monster Floats. Grab a glass, your favorite flavor of ice cream (we used cookie dough!), and Coca-Cola. Place two scoops of ice cream into your glass.

  1. What a fun idea to make monster bark! The boys love anything with those candy eyes. Popcorn is always a must here for movies. You know I love Coca-Cola, and the kids have been dying to see this movie so we’ll have to get a movie night happening soon!
