Take It Off: Party Hangover {Week Twenty}

Benny’s first birthday party was this weekend and it was a blast! When planning his party, I wanted to make sure that I had healthy food available. I didn’t want to have too much temptation that day. I wanted to ensure that I had “on-plan” options. And as a bonus, it was so much easier!

For appetizers, I had made a huge veggie tray, a salad, and a meat and cheese tray. The veggie tray was a big hit! It really helped me steer clear from some of the other things we had out.

We decided to cut out any hot foods and offered hoagies from our favorite local grocery store, Wegmans. We had turkey {on wheat}, Italian, roast beef, ham, and veggies sandwiches.

For dessert, I made a caterpillar cupcake cake {post to come!} for the kiddos. For the adults? Instead of buying a sheet cake that would yield a ton of leftovers and a lot of temptation later for me, I served angel food cake with fresh strawberries and cool whip. There was also a huge fruit salad that everyone enjoyed.

I would be lying if I didn’t attempt to a few bites of “bad” food here and there. I have a weakness for tomato pie and just had to have a slice. And, since it was his birthday and all, I did have some angel food cake. But, it could have been way worse!

I am really proud of myself for not only {mostly} sticking to plan but for eliminating all the bad choices for myself. Everyone really enjoyed the food we had. Healthy choices can be good!

Unfortunately, I didn’t lose a single ounce this week. I didn’t expect to with the party and Mother’s Day so I am happy that I maintained. This week, I am cracking down. Staying on plan 100%. Drinking all my water. And, hopefully, if the rain doesn’t wash me out all week, getting my runs in!

Month 1: -13 lbs 
Month 2: -7 lbs
Month 3: – 4.3 lbs
Month 4: -4.6 lbs
Week Seventeen: -1.2 lbs
Week Eighteen: -.9 lbs  
Week Nineteen: -0.00 lbs {155.2 lbs} Total of -31 lbs! 

Goal Weight: 130-140 lbs

    Well, it seems to me that you are really making great progress toward your goals. It also seems like a really great party. I never had 1st birthday parties for either of my children. Matter-of-fact, they rarely have parties. Well, I am sure that soon you will reach your target weight with the willpower you are displaying.
