4 Fabulous Fall Activities Outside Philly
It’s officially fall which means I can start planning all the fall things: pumpkin picking, apple picking, apple cider donut eating. Fall is my favorite time of year and I like to pack our already busy schedule with fun fall activities.
We have checked out various places in our area and finally have our favorites nailed down. I can not wait to go the fall festivities started!
Apple Picking at Frecon Farms
We have gone to some of the other bigger orchards in the past but they were just way too crowded to be enjoyable. We decided to try out Frecon Farms last year and it’s definitely our favorite! Not only are their orchards plentiful but there is always something going on. From live music to beer tastings to fresh hot apple cider donuts, you can really make a family day out of it. You can also pick your own pumpkins and pears!
Pumpkin Picking at Varner Farms
We have been picking our pumpkins at Varner Farms for about the past 4 years. Their location is super convenient to us so we can go pick pumpkins on a weeknight when they aren’t too crowded. You can take a tractor ride out into the pumpkin patch to pick the perfect pumpkin. When you return, there’s a hay maze, pony and donkey rides, pumpkin painting, scarecrow making, and a 5 acre corn field maze for the kids to navigate.
Mum Mountain at Ott’s Exotic Plants
It is not officially fall until the mums bloom on Mum Mountain at Ott’s Exotic Plants. I drive past Ott’s daily and it’s always such a surprise when the colorful mountain is in full bloom. We go every year to take a picture on top of the mountain and pick up some mums for our garden.
Hersheypark in the Dark
Have you ever wondered what it would be like to ride a roller coaster in the dark? Want to visit an amusement park with your kids for Halloween that is fun but not scary? If you said yes to both of those questions then you need to visit Hersheypark in the Dark this Halloween.
