5 Things Every Planner Chick Needs

This year, my word of the year is Focus. Focusing on the things that matter. That bring me joy. That make me happy. To help me focus, I will be utilizing my Erin Condren Life Planner more. Not only to keep track of who needs to go where or what needs to be done, but to really focus. It will be easier to stay on task if things are in black and white. No excuses. Doesn’t help that you can pretty them up with fun things like stickers and washi. It’s something that brings me joy so it’s staying.

What can I say, I am officially a Planner Chick. I’m in the groups. I stalk the Instagrams. I hoard the stickers and washi. It’s a problem. But a good problem to have.

If you want to jump on the planner bandwagon, I put together a list of my favorite planning supplies. You ready? You might hate me after this.

Erin Condren Life Planner – There are a million and one planners out there. They are all laid out differently. Some are big. Some are small. It just depends on what your intentions are. For me, the Erin Condren Life Planner has also been the planner that fits my needs. I have looked at others but I always go back to EC.

Washi Tape – Again, there are a million and one ways to use washi tape and it can go way beyond your planner. You can craft with it. Decorate with it. The sky is really the limit. But for my planner, I use it in two ways: decoration and blocking off things. Once you buy one roll, you will be grabbing them all!

Stickers – And this is where you will want to hate me. There are so many stickers to choose from. Whether you look on Etsy or want to pick them up on your next Michael’s run, there are a ton of planning stickers out there. Below are a few of my favorite Etsy shops and stickers you can buy at the store.

Pens – Aside from stickers, pens are my weakness. They have always been an obsession. I have hoarded pens for as long as I can remember. And now, I have pens that are just strictly planner plans. Don’t you dare think about stealing one of my planner pens. That’s a death wish. I used to love the PaperMate Ultra Thin Flair Pens. But my current favorite pens are BIC Intensity Fine Pens. They write smoothly and don’t bleed through!

A Planner BFF – Everyone needs a planner BFF who will enable their planner purchases. You need someone who gets the excitement of finding washi tape for $.35 or seeing the new line come out at the Target Dollar Spot.

  4. I use a bullet journal for “brain dumps” – usually a small notebook that’s easy to carry around where I can write down every thought that pops in my head or every little thing I need to remember-to-remember to do. Then it gets migrated into my big, official planner which is far more organized and pretty. Heh 😛
