5 Things Every Planner Chick Needs
This year, my word of the year is Focus. Focusing on the things that matter. That bring me joy. That make me happy. To help me focus, I will be utilizing my Erin Condren Life Planner more. Not only to keep track of who needs to go where or what needs to be done, but to really focus. It will be easier to stay on task if things are in black and white. No excuses. Doesn’t help that you can pretty them up with fun things like stickers and washi. It’s something that brings me joy so it’s staying.
What can I say, I am officially a Planner Chick. I’m in the groups. I stalk the Instagrams. I hoard the stickers and washi. It’s a problem. But a good problem to have.
If you want to jump on the planner bandwagon, I put together a list of my favorite planning supplies. You ready? You might hate me after this.
5 Things Every Planner Chick Needs
Erin Condren Life Planner – There are a million and one planners out there. They are all laid out differently. Some are big. Some are small. It just depends on what your intentions are. For me, the Erin Condren Life Planner has also been the planner that fits my needs. I have looked at others but I always go back to EC.
Washi Tape – Again, there are a million and one ways to use washi tape and it can go way beyond your planner. You can craft with it. Decorate with it. The sky is really the limit. But for my planner, I use it in two ways: decoration and blocking off things. Once you buy one roll, you will be grabbing them all!
Stickers – And this is where you will want to hate me. There are so many stickers to choose from. Whether you look on Etsy or want to pick them up on your next Michael’s run, there are a ton of planning stickers out there. Below are a few of my favorite Etsy shops and stickers you can buy at the store.
- Formless Designs (etsy shop)
- Me and My Big Ideas The Happy Planner Stickers
- Perfect Prints Co (etsy shop)
- Made with Katy Love (etsy shop)
- Colorful Event Stickers
- Heidi Swapp Stickers
Pens – Aside from stickers, pens are my weakness. They have always been an obsession. I have hoarded pens for as long as I can remember. And now, I have pens that are just strictly planner plans. Don’t you dare think about stealing one of my planner pens. That’s a death wish. I used to love the PaperMate Ultra Thin Flair Pens. But my current favorite pens are BIC Intensity Fine Pens. They write smoothly and don’t bleed through!
A Planner BFF – Everyone needs a planner BFF who will enable their planner purchases. You need someone who gets the excitement of finding washi tape for $.35 or seeing the new line come out at the Target Dollar Spot.

I’m a list maker. I have lists in my planner, lists in my phone…if it doesn’t get written down it doesn’t get done
I think my tip is to not overshoot! I try to keep my to-do list realistic, because if I don’t I only concentrate on what I didn’t get done!
Multiple lists and calendars! Without those, I can guarantee I won’t accomplish a goal. I use paper and digital lists, and I need paper calendars on both floors, plus on my phone.
Lists! I always make lists so I can check them off 🙂
I’m a multiple list person….I use them and my calendar
my tip for staying productive is to prioritize a to do list. i make a master to do list of all the tasks that need to be completed, and from that list i decide when i will complete said tasks.
I use a bullet journal for “brain dumps” – usually a small notebook that’s easy to carry around where I can write down every thought that pops in my head or every little thing I need to remember-to-remember to do. Then it gets migrated into my big, official planner which is far more organized and pretty. Heh 😛
I love making lists. I think a planner would help me actually complete all of the tasks that I write down.
Thank you for the chance to win!
Happy New Year!! 🙂
My biggest tip is: write everything down. It’s easy to forget something you need to do so write it all!

Everything needs to be written down..A great planner is a must..:)
I keep put everything either on my calendar or it goes on my list on my phone so I can easily be reminded and/or no matter where I am I can have my list handy
Write everything down! Get your thoughts out of brain overload and onto a list. Mark the items off the list when done. Yes, an accomplishment completed. Then it is on to the next task. Mark in rewards on your list (i.e. Starbucks stop, email updates).
I stay organized by keeping notes and writing everything down.

Lists on post-its! It’s how I keep everything straight, even as my husband is laughing at my million sticky note lists he finds around the house.

I make sure to set aside 10 minutes before and after I start working so I’m organized in the morning and before I’m done working.
This is so smart! I need to get into this habit every day. Just take a few minutes to get my mind organized!
As a teacher organization is key to getting things done for myself! I write everything that I need/want to do down and then order it in importance. And then I get to work (:
I stay organized by writing things down and looking at them daily.
Have someone else to help remind you where you need to be and when 🙂 And don’t hoard things!
No hoarding? What is this you speak of?
I learned that if I’m not writing things down, they aren’t getting done. And I also like to use repeating events on Google Calendar.
Yes! Writing things down is a MUST!
I do a Sunday night review every week to anticipate the week to come.
I try to do this! I need to get back in the habit. It would be a good thing to do at dinner with the family.
I make sure that my cabinets get filled old to new so it is one last things I have to think about. No more”organizing” the cabinets I do it as I put up groceries and I see what needs used next.
I don’t have a good tip for staying organized – that’s why I need that EC planner!! LOL

Lots of lists… and keeping things where they belong which is often hard!

I try and keep both a reminder on paper and my phone so if I forget on one it’s on the other “hopefully” . it is a goal of mine to be more organized this year for sure . 🙂
I leave notes everywhere and I prepare the clothes of the week on Sundays. Thank you for the giveaway.
I have a place for everything and put everything back in it’s place. I clean up as I go.
I check my schedule every morning and do everything I can to stick to it. I review it again at night to update for the next day.
By making lists and reminder notes in my phone

I love paper planners!! Erin Condren being my fav!! I’ve been holding out on purchasing this years!
I stay more organized if I write it on the calendar/day planner vs. computer calendar.
My only tip- which I often fail to follow myself- is to put paperwork where it belongs. File it, put in in an inbox, or trash it Don’t let it accumulate in 50 different places.
I write down every thing I need to do the night before so when I wake up in the morning I can just read what I have to do!
get rid of stuff
My tip for staying organized is lists, lists, and more lists. Color coded, of course!
My number one tip for staying organized is to make sure that all appointment and necessary info is written down as soon as I get the info.
