90 years

90 years.90 years all crammed into one room with 6 children, 15 grandchildren, and 11 great-grandchildren. 100 family and friends gathered together. All there to celebrate one man.

One man who has single handedly touched and shaped all of their lives.

90 years compiled into a 14 foot timeline.

One man who has seen and done more things in his life than most of us ever hope to do.

In 90 years, he’s lived through a depression and a recession. He fought in World Word II and was honored for his service to his country. He worked in another state for a major railroad to provide for his children. He is a world traveler and has gone places most of us long to see.  He has seen grandchildren and great-grandchildren born. Another generation to carry on his legacy. He is quiet and reserved.  Though his achievements are great and many, he is humble. He is the embodiment of respect.

90 years.

Happy Birthday Pap-Pap!

  1. happy birthday to him! it's so special when great grandparents and great great grandparents are around to see the next generations!

  2. That’s wonderful. It’s such a great thing when you get to celebrate the life of someone who has seen and done so much. My son’s great-grandfather just past away last week at 95. We were sad but he also had a fulfilling life and was with family. It’s made me think a lot about how the world has change in the last hundred or so years though.
