Being a boy mom means I know way too much about Superheroes. It also means that those said Superheroes can be found laying around my house. Instead of fighting it, I embrace it. They are only little once.

One way I try to embrace it is by making Superhero snacks for the boys! After all, my superheroes need their strength! Sometimes it can be a challenge to make these snacks, like when the stores don’t have round pretzels. I mean why is it so hard to find round pretzels? But being the Super Mom that I am, I searched the ends of the earth so that I could make these awesome Captain America Shields for my boys!

And I am so glad that I did! They loved them and that they were so awesome. It also helped that I had a certain Superhero to help me.

You will need:

  • Round Pretzels (These were hard to find but if you keep on looking, you might get lucky like I did!)
  • White Chocolate Melts
  • One bag of M&M’s®

First, assign someone to sort through the bag of M&M’s® and put aside all of the blues and reds. This would be a great color lesson for kids…or get your husband to do it like I did! Also, pre-heat your oven to 300 degrees.

Next, lay your round pretzels on a cookie sheet covered in parchment paper.

Top each pretzel with a white chocolate melt.

Place your cookie tray in the oven for about 5-10 minutes. It does not take long for the chocolate to melt. The melts will get shiny when they are ready.

Top each melt with your red and blue M&M’s®! Let cool until chocolate hardens.

Now you’re all set for a fun Captain America treat to go along with your next Avengers themed party or Captain America movie night!
