Change Your Clock, Change Your Batteries {#Giveaway}

I seriously must be living under a rock. I thought we did this whole fall back thing last month. Maybe it just feels like that with a certain two year old’s sleep regression.

If you don’t live under a rock like me, you know this weekend, on November 3rd, we are changing our clocks back from Daylight Saving Time.   It’s also that time of year when Energizer, the International Association of Fire Chiefs, and fire departments nationwide join forces for the Change Your Clock Change Your Battery® program to raise awareness of the importance of working smoke alarms and carbon monoxide detectors in helping to keep families safe in their homes.  This is the 26th year for the annual program and the message is still an important one.

Did you know, thirty-eight percent of fatal fire injuries occur in homes with no smoke alarms, while 24 percent occur in homes in which at least one smoke alarm is present but fails to operate, frequently due to dead or missing batteries.

Energizer wants to help keep you safe! One lucky reader will win a Family Safety Kit {a $60 value} complete with a reusable grocery tote containing:

  • One 16-pack Energizer® MAX® AA Batteries years
  • One 1-pack of Energizer® MAX® 9 volt batteries
  • One Energizer® Weatheready® LED Safety Light flashlight – Waterproof flashlight powered by AA, AAA or C cell batteries
  • One Kiddie Battery-Operated Combination Carbon Monoxide and Smoke Alarm

Win it!

    Seriously, I usually try to adjust the kids’ bedtimes by a few minutes but somehow that didn’t happen this year!

  2. I wish we were more prepared – we just sort of go with the flow. But we do test smoke alarms, change batteries, shut off outdoor water taps, bring in hoses, put patio furniture away.

  3. Now that we have fewer clocks in the house that don’t turn back on their own (like computers and phones), I don’t really think about it that much. And I love winter, so I look at it as one step closer to snow!

  4. I prepare to fall back by sleeping!! LOL! I love this day of the year – an extra hour of sleep is awesome!! 🙂

  5. I’ve already fallen back, lol! No, seriously, we are having a difficult school year and I’m doing all I can. So I’m taking things in my stride and giving up my illusion of “control.” I love the fall for relaxing, kicking back and visiting (which is relaxing to me!) so that’s what I’m doing 🙂

  6. Since I have tended to muck it up in the past (adjusting the wrong direction) my current plan is to stay up late and adjuct the clocks when my computer automatically adjusts.

  7. I haven’t done anything thing to prepare, thanks for reminding everyone to check their alarms.

  8. i don’t do anything for fallback, i actually usually forget, I’ll try and remember to change all the clocks this weekend.
