Chewbacca Granola Bars

Did you hear the news from D23 Expo this weekend? Not one but TWO Star Wars Land opening at Disneyland and Disney World! As if the Magical Place on Earth could get any better. I know once my boys get wind of this, they will want to go as soon as it opens!

While they are waiting for not only Star War Land but the new movie as well, we need to celebrate. I have three (yup, the husband is probably even more excited than the children) about the new Star Wars movie coming Christmas time.

Confession? I might be a little excited, too.

I think these will come in handy when the new movie opens in December!

What You’ll Need:

Star Wars Chewbacca Granola Bars

Quaker Chewy Dips granola bars
Brown M&M’s candy
Yellow Nerds candy
Tootsie Rolls candy
Baker’s white chocolate
Hershey’s Dark Chocolate Kisses

And here’s how to assemble:

Star Wars Chewbacca Granola Bars

Unwrap and cut your tootsie roll in half lengthwise. Pull and flatten one half of the candy until you have the shape of Chewbacca’s Belt.

Unwrap a granola bar. Place Chewbacca’s tootsie roll belt diagonally across your granola bar, pinching it down on the sides to secure. Place yellow Nerds candy onto his Tootsie Roll belt.

Unwrap three chocolate kisses and place them in a small microwave safe bowl. Microwave on high for 30 seconds or until just melted enough to be stirred with the tip of a knife. You do not want your chocolate liquified.

Spread the dark chocolate onto the top of your granola bar lifting up with your knife to form peaks resembling fur.

Place one square of white chocolate in a small microwave safe bowl. Microwave on high for 15 seconds or until just melted enough to be stirred with the tip of a knife. Do not liquify the chocolate.

With the tip of your knife transfer a small amount of melted white chocolate onto the dark chocolate on your granola bar in the place where Chewbacca’s face will be. Be sure to mix and lift up and out with your knife to form the fur. This process of mixing the two chocolates will yield a light brown facial fur color.

Cut your brown M&M’s in half. This will be Chewbacca’s nose. Place it in the center of the light brown facial fur.

Dip a toothpick into your melted white chocolate and dab two white eyes onto your granola bar.

  1. Thanks so very much for sharing your Recipe for Chewbacca Granola Bars! This is a really terrific idea! They look so darn cute! I’m sure the kids will get a kick out of these! We aren’t really big Star Wars fans. I saw the first few and then stopped because the people changed and everything. So I’m not caught up into that world. The kids haven’t said too much about this new movie coming out, however, if my family is still being the way they are, we won’t be going anywhere for Christmas and maybe will go to the movies! I hate Christmas with not going to visit or have dinner with the entire family! Thanks again for sharing your terrific recipe for Chewbacca Granola Bars with all of us! I do appreciate it! Thanks again! Michele 🙂
