Tips for Making Chocolate Chip Cookies
- Make sure your butter is soft but not melted. Let your butter sit out on the counter for an hour or two. Or microwave for 40 seconds. Keep an eye on it to ensure it doesn’t melt.
- You can never add to many chocolate chips! Or swap out the chips for chocolate chunks.
Chocolate Chip Cookie

Ingredients
- 1/4 cup packed brown sugar
- 8 tablespoons of salted butter
- 1/2 cup of white sugar
- 1 tsp of vanilla
- 1 egg
- 1/2 cup all purpose flour
- 1/2 tsp baking soda
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 3/4 - 1 cup chocolate chips
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 375 degrees F. Line cookie sheets with parchment paper.
- Combine flour, baking powder, baking soda and salt in small bowl. Set aside.
- Mix butter, sugar, and brown sugar in a large bowl. Stir in eggs one at a time. Add vanilla and mix. Stir in flour mixture. Fold in chocolate chips.
- Drop dough by rounded tablespoons onto cookie sheets. Bake for 11-13 minutes. Allow cookies to cool for 2 minutes before moving to wire racks to cool completely.
