You Might Think I’m Crazy

After a lot of discussions and a lot of stressing, I did something a little crazy last week. I informed my job that I would not be returning after maternity leave. I know, I know. I waited until about two weeks before I was supposed to go back. But honestly, I didn’t know what I was going to do until last week. Some things happened last week that were real eye openers for us and made us realize what was best for our family.

And let’s face it, to put two children in daycare, I might as well just hand my paycheck over to the daycare director. Why work 40 hours a week just to pay for someone else to watch my children when I could be doing that myself?

Now that my first official week as a SAHM/WAHM has begun, I really do believe we are doing the right thing. I get to be with my boys all day. I get to work on my photography and build my business even more. I don’t feel guilty anymore when I run off to sessions or hurry them along so I can get back to my boys. I get to learn about the little things that make my boys tick.

And the giggles. Oh my the giggles make it all worth it.

  1. Congrats to you! I feel wholeheartedly that when you make decisions like that, you will prosper. I sometimes wish I could do the same with my son, but I'm the "breadwinner" here, so don't think that will happen! Enjoy every second!
