Creating Zen Moments With Adult Coloring Books

It’s no surprise that Adult Coloring Books are all the rage. It is one of the most therapeutic activities with only benefits. It doesn’t have to cost much, and you won’t wake up the next morning with a headache (unless you do decide to color while enjoying some wine).

Adult coloring is my go to stress-buster. When I have a bad day at work, after I’ve put Abby to bed, I’ve been known to get lost in my adult coloring pages for hours. I have a little collection that is completely my own, there is no sharing of supplies.

The Harry Potter Coloring Book from Scholastic was the best Christmas gift ever from my sister and future brother-in-law. It is so easy to get lost in this book for hours. Truth-be-told I spent 3 hours coloring the first page. I am really excited for the subsequent releases to come out, I’ve already pre-ordered them on Amazon, they are Harry Potter Magical Creatures, releasing on January 26th, and Harry Potter Magical Places & Characters, releasing on March 29th.

Use the force to help you color the Star Wars Coloring Book, also another favorite. I like that they combined classic characters with mandala patterns. They also took classic Star Wars Symbols like Storm Trooper helmets and the Death Star to make unique mandalas

You name your interest, there is a coloring book for it. Especially in the realm of Pop Culture and Entertainment. There is a Game of Thrones Coloring Book for all of those fans that want to put their adult coloring skills to the test with one of the top TV shows.

The fangirl inside me isn’t complete without an adult coloring book that is Disney-centric. I adore this Art of Coloring Disney Princess coloring book. I love that they have used fun elements that are only true to the princesses to create these intricate designs, like the castle, tiaras, etc. The self-proclaimed disney-freak inside me squeals with glee when I start coloring.

Favorite Relaxation & Inspirational Coloring Books

Color Me Calm adult coloring book is one of my absolute favorites for relaxing and meditating. It is serene and tranquil. The patterns that are throughout the book are whimsical and dream like. It is absolutely calming.

Creative Coloring Inspirations is perfect for having a little inspiration. It has these great motivational quotes, which clearly I love. It is nice to sometimes take some time out and remind yourself that “Today Is Going To Be Awesome!” We all need a little inspiration sometimes.

I could color all the different flowers and landscape all day in Secret Garden. There are so many different varieties to choose from in this book and it’s so calming and reflective.

These Prismacolor colored pencils are absolutely dreamy. They glide on the paper with such ease and are beautiful vibrant colors. They are slow to wear down and are also water resistant. They blend and shade gloriously. They are definitely one of my most favorite brands and I try to snatch them up when they are on sale.

Steal: Colored Pencil Set with Case, 7-Inch, Pack of 72

I love the variety in this colored pencil set. With so many different variations of colors it’s really easy to find the perfect shade. They are great at various pressures from soft strokes to using a deeper pressure for bolder colors. They do wear down a bit faster, but at the price point, it can’t be beat.

The vibrance of these Faber-Catell pens is fantastic. They glide on paper beautifully. Not only are they great for coloring but they also are fabulous for lettering. I’ve used them in my planners and they look great. They are fade-resistant and waterproof.

Steal: Sharpie Ultra-Fine Point Markers

Nothing beats Sharpie Ultra-Fine Point Markers. Their price point is perfect. The variety of colors is limitless. They are bright and bold and I love the various limited edition packs that are released. I also use these markers in my planners and calendars as well. They are a brand that I love and trust.
