Natural Beauty: Embrace Your Curls
During the summer, I am forced to embrace my curls due to the insane humidity. One would think that my hair would get a break during the winter. One would be wrong! The winter can be just as trying to my curls. Since I started embracing my curls more, I have developed a winning routine that allow me to show off the natural beauty that is my curls.
Behold the Walgreens hair product aisle!
There are so many choices and so many different price points that it can be both overwhelming and intimidating. I couldn’t tell you how many times I have tried a product and it has failed. Miserably. But, over time, I have developed my no-fail go-to products. I even found myself staring aimlessly when I went to Walgreens this weekend to stock up on my products. I am always tempted to try new things!
1. Suave Professionals Moroccan Infusion Moroccan Argan Styling Oil: This is the first step to my perfect curls. Just a few drops of this oil after getting out of the shower. It’s ultra light and helps condition your hair without weighing it down.
2. Mark Anthony Strictly Curls Perfect Curl Cream: Just because you have naturally curly hair doesn’t mean your curls don’t need any help! This cream controls and defines coarse, frizzy hair while adding moisture for soft, natural frizz-free curls with shine.
3. John Frieda Frizz-Ease Secret Weapon Flawless Finishing Creme: This truly is my secret weapon! After I am done drying my hair, I rub a drop of this cream in my hands and help smooth my curls. I also use this to touch up my hair throughout the day.
4. Tresemme Tres Two Extra Hold Hair Spray: When my curls look perfect {or close to it}, I spray it all with hairspray! This hairspray is lightweight and has 24 hour humidity resistance, which means less frizz!
5. Static Guard: This is another one of my secret weapons! With the dry air and the need to wear hats and scarves means there’s a lot of static build up. I keep this in my car to help keep my hair from flying away and sticking to everything!
So there you have it! My no-fail go-to curly hair winter essentials that will help you embrace the natural beauty of your curly hair.
