They’re 2, They’re 4, They’re 6, They’re 8

On Monday, we surprised the boys with one of the biggest surprises ever. Day Out with Thomas! We didn’t tell them where we were going ahead of time but gave some hints along the way. There were guesses of the aquarium and the zoo. But never once did Ethan think he would be seeing Thomas. As we got closer to Strasburg Railroad, Ethan spotted the puff of smoke coming from the train. He got excited and yelled “I think we going over to that train.” It wasn’t until the blue engine appeared that he flipped. They both started screaming Thomas and I knew we had a success before even getting out of the car.

After picking up our tickets, we boarded the train for our 22 minute ride with Thomas. Ethan could not get over that Thomas was pulling our train! Throughout the ride, they played all of the Thomas songs and we cheered on Thomas for pulling so many cars.

After our ride, we got in line to get our picture with Thomas. I honestly thought that this was going to be the disasterous part of our day. The line would be too long. We would get to the front and Thomas would have to leave. Children would start screaming. But none of that happened. I was really impressed with how run the whole operation was!

After our pictures with Thomas, we checked out all of the fun activities for the kids. The cranky cars were a favorite of Ethan’s the last time we visited Strasburg so he immediately ran right over to them! There is so much for the kids to do before and after your ride. Of course, there is a huge souvenir tent and we couldn’t leave without a few Thomas goodies.
