Daylight Saving Sleep Tip + #Giveaway

Raise your hands if you despise Daylight Saving Time as much as I do?

Good. I knew I wouldn’t be alone. In fact, 52% of moms feel that their baby’s sleep patterns are thrown off when the clocks “fall back” and Daylight Savings Time ends.

This weekend, we turned the clocks back and were promised an extra hour of sleep. But that does not apply if you have children. Their little internal clocks do not understand the time change one bit. Instead, we are all up way too early. And they are raring to go for the day at 5 am.

5 am is never an acceptable time to start your day…when you don’t have too.

If your kids are getting up as early as mine are, I am sure you are thinking “Well, what do I do?” Because it’s no fun getting up at 5 am. Here are some tips to help us all get some sleep!

3 Sleep Tips for Kids {and Adults, too!}

1. Get outside. It’s getting colder, so bundle everyone up and take a morning walk, just 20 or 30 minutes to make sure that you and your baby get some sunshine, which will help your circadian rhythm adjust to the time change.

2. Stick to your flexible schedule. If you always have breakfast at 8:00 a.m., then keep your schedule, but make sure that you are following it according to the time change.

3. The end of daylight savings is a good time to make sure that your child’s bedtime is age-appropriate. Infants and babies do best with a bedtime between 7:30 and 8:00 p.m. Later bedtimes have shown to have a negative effect on children’s attitudes and their ability to focus, and can result in instances of early rising.

Another thing to keep in mind for a good night’s rest is keeping your baby dry! I know my son doesn’t like to be in a wet or dirty diaper and this can cause a nap to be cut short or an early morning. The new Pampers Baby Dry diapers, now in sizes 1-6, features an “Ultra Absorb” core to cover up to 95% of overnight loads. There are also three layers of absorbency vs. the two found in most other diapers.

To help you with the time change and to keep your nights dry, I have just the thing to help!
