Free (and Cheap) Things to Do in Hershey, PA

I’ve partnered with Hershey Entertainment and Resorts to share the latest happenings in Hershey!

Hershey’s Chocolate World. You can’t be in Hershey or visiting Hersheypark and not go to Chocolate World. Take a ride through the chocolate making process and end with a sweet treat. No matter how many times we visit Hershey we always go to Chocolate World.

ZooAmerica. If you have Hersheypark Season Passes or are just visiting for the day, admission to Zoo America is included! Make sure you carve out some time to visit the zoo. It’s a great way to take a break from the crowds and relax a bit.

If you are staying at a Hershey Resort, make sure you take advantage of your free benefits!

Tickets to the Hershey Story. The Hershey Story museum experience takes visitors on a journey through his life, his chocolate company, his generous philanthropic legacy and the town of Hershey, PA. Engaging museum exhibits explore Mr. Hershey’s early failures, how he successfully revolutionized the process of making milk chocolate, and how the orphan boys of the Hershey Industrial School became heirs to his fortune.

Visit the Hershey Gardens featuring the new Butterfly Atrium.Hershey Gardens opened in 1937 with Milton Hershey’s request to “create a nice garden of roses.” More than 75 years later, the small rose garden has blossomed into 23 acres of botanical beauty providing visitors with unique experiences and enriching opportunities.

Tröegs Independent Brewing Self-Guided Tour. The self-guided tour path runs through center of the brewery, allowing guests to experience our fermentation/filtration hall, quality lab, packaging lines, and barrel-aging room. The self-guided tour path is open during normal operating hours at no cost, and is handicap accessible. Guests of all ages are welcome, and no reservations are required.

Cocoa Castle. Cocoa Castle is a playground like no other located on Cocoa Avenue in Hershey. Dragon slides, a haunted pirate ship and a HERSHEY’S KISSES Hut (of course) await.

Milton Hershey School’s Founder Hall. Founders Hall is one of the most unique and magnificent pieces of architecture in central Pennsylvania. The building is open to the public for tours every day from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., except on school holidays.

If you don’t mind shelling out a few dollars for some more fun, check out the following!
