Fun Family Getaway to Kalahari Resorts

This post was made possible by iConnect and Kalahari. I was provided compensation, but all opinions are 100% mine.

The weather is getting cooler and our summer clothing is slowly being packed away. I am loving the crisp, fall weather that calls for long jeans and hoodies. The boys? Well, they aren’t too happy. They were sad the day the pool cover went on. And they were sad when I packed away their bathing suits.

But I have a little surprise for them! This weekend, we are taking a little road trip to the new s where they can splash and slide til their hearts are content!

The authentically-African themed resort combines the convenience of an all-under-roof  vacation with all the amenities families are looking for in a resort. As Pennsylvania’s largest indoor waterpark (100,000 sq. ft.!), it also includes an Outdoor waterpark, (with a huge outdoor pool and sundeck for relaxing), 30,000 sq. ft. Family Entertainment Center featuring plenty of dry activities (including mini-bowling, cutting-edge arcade games, a 5D theater, black light mini golf and more), and indoor/outdoor whirlpools and a swim-up bar.

With  457 guest rooms with one-, two- and three-bedroom suites, three full-service signature dining experiences, Spa Kalahari and Salon and 6,000 sq. ft. of retail space,  Kalahari is a one-stop-shop for the perfect family getaway with something for both the young and young at heart.

Kalahari Resorts and Conventions is a family-owned business, and the family dynamic is what makes the resort unique. Todd Nelson, owner of Kalahari Resorts, his wife and five children are each intimately involved with the Kalahari project, and have designed the resort to meet the needs of all members of the family – from toddlers to grandparents.
To prepare for the largest Kalahari resort to-date, last October the Nelson family took on six countries in Africa in 23 days across 24,000 miles to bring authentic African experiences and items back to the Poconos resort. Kalahari is infused with those experiences including music that will be echoed throughout the resort captured in Cape Town along with sculptures, paintings and other art collected from various locations that stand in the lobby, hang on the convention center walls and displayed in the guest rooms.
