Tiffani Thiessen, Affogato, and Me: #MySignatureMoments

I attended the #MySignatureMoments event in sunny California on behalf of Acme Markets. All opinions are my own.

A few weeks ago, I was invited out to Los Angeles to celebrate the Albertsons Companies (including my hometown ACME Markets) Signature family of brands launch. We started off our morning with a Signature Avocado toast bar and coffee where we prepared for our day of learning, cooking, and soaking up the sun.

We then headed into the kitchen to learn from Chef Jeff Anderson, Executive Chef at the Albertsons Culinary kitchens and Technical Center. Chef Jeff is responsible for developing new products for Albertsons Companies stores. He draws on his 35+ years of experience to provide a gold standard of food excellence at affordable prices for shoppers.

He shared some amazing tips, like using soup as a pizza sauce (who would have thought to do that!) and shared with how they develop recipes in their culinary kitchens. Of course, there was a lot of tasting going on. I stepped outside of my food bubble and tried a few things I swore I’d never eat. And guess what? I liked it!


We continued on our day of tasting by making our own Signature flatbread pizzas with both traditional and unique toppings. Along with our personal flatbreads, we enjoyed amazing salads, all made with Signature products for lunch.

And then, the big moment: our special guest had arrived! Tiffani Thiessen, host of Cooking Channel’s Dinner at Tiffani’s, sat down at our lunch table and chatted with us about family and, of course, food!

And if that weren’t amazing enough, we went back into the kitchen where she made us dessert. Yes, you read the right. She made us dessert!

Watching Tiffani work around the kitchen, I knew she really loved to cook. Everything was effortless and she enjoyed making ice cream sandwiches and my new favorite dessert, Affogato. Anything that marries coffee and ice cream gets a gold star in my book!

This Signature Affogato recipe only takes 10 minutes to make and combines decadent Signature SELECT™ Moose Tracks Ice Cream with Signature SELECT™ Kona Blend coffee to make a unique and flavorful dessert.

  • 2 2 ounce scoops Signature SELECT™ Moose Tracks Ice Cream, softened
  • 3 oz prepared Signature SELECT™ Coffee, Kona Blend
  • soft whipped cream, optional
  • peanut brittle, optional
  • chocolate Shavings, optional


  1. Add 2 scoops to a clear parfait glass.
  2. Pour half an ounce of coffee over ice cream.
  3. Top with soft whipped cream, chocolate shavings and peanut brittle.
