Idlewild and Soak Zone

On Tuesday, the family and I are packing up the car and heading out to Pittsburgh for our annual vacation. We will be visiting family and relaxing. Of course, we will also be hitting some fun attractions. Last year, we managed to cross a ton of things off the “What to do in Pittsburgh” list. We still have a few places to see.

Idlewild and Soak Zone

One place that was highly recommended to us was Idlewild Park and Soak Zone. I checked out the website to see the attractions and I think it’s the perfect place for us to visit. Aside from the usual amusement rides {Ferris wheel, Merry Go Round, roller coasters, etc.}, they also have some great side attractions.

Story Book Forest is a special place where little ones can meet their favorite characters from nursery rhymes and children’s tales and where parents and grandparents can revisit their youth and reminisce about simpler times. These looks like the perfect place to grab some down time!

Soak Zone

And if it’s hot? Soak Zone will have us covered. We can cool off in the water fun areas.

One of the things that I am most excited to see is Mister Roger’s Neighborhood. Based upon the popular children’s show, this one-of-a-kind attraction takes children and parents on a life-size trolley ride through the well-known “Neighborhood of Make-Believe”.

There are just so many things to do there that a family day out will be in order!
