Just Because.

As most of you know, I shot my first wedding Saturday.
Now I must admit, I am not the best practicing Catholic out there. Yes, I am the sometimer. The Christmas, maybe Easter kinda of a gal. I went to Catholic school for 12 years and I swear I maxed out my quota for awhile. Plus the whole experience kinda turned me off.
But I digress.

The wedding was held at the local Catholic church. (You know, the one I should be attending.) I’ve only been there once and I really know nothing about the priest and how that Church functions.

Thankfully, being a fellow Catholic, I knew exactly where to be during the ceremony (when to shot and when to get out of the way). The ceremony was going along smoothly and then we came to the homily. I usually try to pay attention to this part and try to get a little something out of it.

And I did this time.

The priest spoke about “just because.”

Why did this couple fall in love?…Just because.

Why do you stick around through the ups and downs?…Just because.

Today is my 4 year wedding anniversary to the hubster and those words keep repeating in my head…just because.

We met…just because.

We fell in love…just because.

We have stuck together for over 12 years…just because.

We got married…just because.

We started a family…just because.

The priest reminded everyone not to lose the just because. The just because is what holds us together.
