Massages, Manis, and Maroon 5

Being a work-at-home mom can be rough sometimes. Being with the kids all day, every day, really takes its toll. There’s no break. And you need a break. I find that, sometimes, those breaks come in the form of daydreaming. I find myself daydreaming of hopping on a plane and getting a massage in Nashville. Or heading to Los Angeles to have my hair done by a professional stylist. Or wandering the streets of New York City…alone {who am I kidding, you are never really alone in New York City}.

But, let’s face it, most of those things are never going to happen. Well, maybe I’ll get to wander New York City alone sometime soon.

Until then, I have to find the little ways to treat myself  so that I remain sane. For my sake. And everyone else’s.

Just last weekend, I grabbed my keys and headed out to the local nail salon to get a manicure as soon as my husband walked in the door. Actually, I don’t even think he was in the door when I left. It was one of those day. I had to get out of the house!

It was the most peaceful 30 minutes that I have had in a really long time. And I ended up with pretty nails for Easter!

And last night? Well, if you follow me on Instagram, you know where I was last night!

Oh you know, just me and Adam Levine {and 20,000 other screaming women!}. I haven’t gone to a concert in a really long time {I don’t even remember who it was!} so I was so excited when my sister got me tickets for my birthday. Best. Birthday. Present. Ever.

We left early for a night out with the girls, complete with Crab Fries.

It was exactly what I needed!

It can be hard to turn off your mommy brain but we need to do it more than we let ourselves. We need to allow ourselves that massage. Or that blow out. Or that mani.

We need it.

We deserve it!

This is a sponsored post however, all the points and views are my own.

  2. I agree! We need GNO’s as much as our husband’s need BNO’s we work hard in business, as parents and spouses and we need to remember that we are individuals too. Glad to see you are showing yourself a good time and making time for YOU!

  3. Oh man, looks like you had a great time! My husband moved his office home a few months ago, so now not only am I home all day, so is he. I love the money we’re saving on gas, but holy cats he’s ALWAYS THERE. Sounds like I could use a mani. 🙂
