Ask any mother what they want for Mother’s Day and they will say “Nothing. I just want to do nothing.” I’m not kidding. My husband just asked me this very question this morning and it was the first answer to come out of my mouth. It was followed by relaxing and a clean house. I’m not asking for too much, right?
But we all know that’s not going to happen. There will be brunches. Or, if you are lucky, breakfast in bed. Or a cookout. There will be some kind of celebration. And where there’s a celebration, there will be gifts.
I am always pressed for Mother’s Day gifts. I don’t know why I struggle on what to get my own mother or my mother-in-law or my sister. They all want the same thing I want but, still, there has to be some kind of gift giving. So I turn to my go-to gifts: pictures! As a photographer, I believe that photographs are one of the best gifts you can give to someone. They capture a moment in time. A personality. A memory. Why not share that with family?
Sadly, most of my photgraphs live either on my SD card or my cell phone. They rarely get printed, turned into an album, or some type of photo gift. Why? Time. I just don’t have the time to do it, especially this time of year. Between running from school to the baseball field to birthday parties, there just isn’t any time. I mean, there is no reason to not have this photo printed and hung somewhere. Am I right? It’s a travesty!
Until now. I vowed this year to get my photos off my phone and have them printed. The best part? I can do it right from my phone, the ZTE Zinger.
