Last week, I signed both boys up for their fall sports. And it dawned on me. I am going to be spending a lot of time in the car come September. Between school, soccer, baseball, Vision Therapy, and PREP class, we are going to be on the go. I think we may have one night each week where there isn’t anything going on.
And when you are spending a lot of time in the car, whether you are driving back and forth or just sitting and waiting, you waste a lot of time. 1o minutes and 15 minutes there really adds up. Sometimes it’s nice to just sit there and decompress but when you run your own business, you can’t really afford to do that every day.
So instead of thinking about all the time I will be wasting in the car, I am going to capitalize on it. I am going to use that time to my advantage. How?
That’s how. Earlier in the week, I threw together a homework caddy for the boys and it had me thinking. I need something like that to keep in the car!
Why? So I have no excuses. I will always have a pen and a piece of paper so I can jot down ideas, to-dos, and shopping lists. I can’t be the only one who had a front seat that looked like this.
Well, it looked like that when I actually remembered to bring all those things with me! Now that I have everything stored in a handy dandy caddy, I just have to remember to grab it on my way out. I keep it right by our front door and keep my keys in there so I have to remember!
If you’re like me you probably always forget your coupons at home. Not anymore! Throw your coupon holder in the caddy so always have them! No more excuses. After all, with all that running around and paying for sports, snacks, and supplies, you need to find ways to save some money.
I also pop my planner into the caddy and keep it up to date by cross referencing my Google calendar on my Samsung Grand Prime. Because we all know we don’t leave the house without those phones.
Seriously, what did people do without smartphones? From keeping in contact with my husband on where we are and when we’ll be home from ordering dinner so we can grab that on the way, I’d be lost without it!
If you are looking for even more ways to save money, take a look at your cell phone bill! I know we were basically throwing money away when it came to that. If you are looking to make a switch, Walmart Family Mobile service is $29.88/month (for the first line) for Unlimited Talk, Text & Data service plan which includes up to 1G of 4G LTE data. Just think of the money you’ll save! You’ll have more money in your pocket to spend on gas and after-game treats!

Such a great idea!!! I almost feel like I just need this to keep things right at my fingertips in the car!! I am always putting things in my purse and then fishing them back out again once Im in the car. Then trying to find a place to put everything lol… smh. This would make my life so much easier!! Thanks for the great idea!
Such a good thing to have!!!! I am going to create myself one of these!!! Seems like all my stuff winds up in many different places and I lose track of things. Thank you for the post!!!
