Port Discovery

We recently planned a trip to Baltimore to see my brother for his birthday. The kids were going to come along with us, so we wanted to make sure we did something that held their interest as well. There are the usual spots in town, but we were looking for something new and fun that we hadn’t done before.

After a quick internet search, we decided to head over to Port Discovery. We had never heard of it before, but it certainly seemed like something the kids would enjoy.

After a “quick” brunch, we headed over to check things out. From the moment we got inside, the kids were going at a million miles an hour with all that there was to do.

The first thing was the KidsWorks, which is front and center as you enter. If you look closely at the top of the picture, that is Ethan and his 27 year old uncle, 3 stories up!

Port Discovery has a ton of kid-friendly exhibits to explore, some permanent and others are special visiting exhibits. The World of Water was definitely Ethan’s favorite exhibit. He loved trying to get himself to fit inside a giant bubble!

Every time we left one room for another, we always had to make a stop back at KidsWorks to climb, slide, run and jump.

The kids had such a great time that we ended up staying about 2 hours longer than we anticipated. Good news is that all that extra exercise certainly helped the kids to take a nice nap on the way home!

We will certainly be headed back soon to see what new exhibits are coming!
