When it comes to cereal, my family are all on the same page. Sure it’s perfect for breakfast. Quick snack after school? You betcha. Dinner on a busy baseball night? You got it. In fact, cereal is an acceptable meal or snack any time of the day in our house.
That’s why this St. Patrick’s Day, I put together some fun treat bags for my kids and their friends using some of their favorite cereal! When it comes to St. Patrick’s Day, I will admit that I am one that doesn’t really celebrate. But the boys get so into it every year. They build a leprechaun trap and try to catch that trick fella. And look for little clues that he was here.
When putting together their treat bags, I turned to Post Cereal. With a variety of flavors to make everyone in the family happy, I found that Kung Fu Panda Po Power Crunch and Berry Colossal Crunch cereal were the perfect cereal to fill my “Pot of Gold” St. Patrick’s Day Treat!
Pot of Gold Treat Bags
To make your own Pot of Gold Treat Bags, you will need:
- Kung Fu Panda Po Power Crunch
- Berry Colossal Crunch
- Green or Black paper treat bags
- Pipe cleaners
- Clear treat bags
- Pot of Gold Bag Topper Printable (you can grab that down below!)
Pot of Gold Treat Bag Instructions
Start by cutting down your paper treat bags. I made mine about 4 inches tall.
Next, take your pipe cleaners in assorted colors and twist them together to make a rainbow.
Attached your pipe cleaners to the inside of your bag paper on each side with tape.
Now it’s time to fill your treat bags! I filled ours half with the Kung Fu Panda Po Power Crunch.
Top with the Berry Colossal Crunch!
Place your Pot of Gold Treats in a clear cellophane bag and top with the Pot of Gold Bag Topper!
