Potty Training with Me-ify Potty Star App

Way back in November, I told you that we were potty training Ben. I wish I could report that we have successfully completed potty training and that I am no longer purchasing diapers.

But that would be a lie.

He was gung ho with potty training for all of about 3 days. And then he didn’t care anymore. He wanted his diapers. And I made the biggest mistake.

I didn’t keep up with it.

We have had some successful potty moments here and there but nothing close to getting him fully trained. But it’s time to try again.

So, I am loading up my arsenal with all my tricks.

  • Big boy undies
  • M&Ms for rewards
  • Cheerios for target practice

I also downloaded a new app to help us keep track of our potty training adventures. The Me-ify Potty Star All is an all-inclusive potty training tool for the iPad, iPhone and iPod Touch. This comprehensive app features a personalized eBook starring your child, 5 interactive potty games, 5 original potty songs, a reusable star rewards chart and helpful potty training tips. Me-ify Potty Star helps your child learn, practice and celebrate potty achievements on or off the potty, anywhere you go!

When I first downloaded the app, the boys were pretty excited about the new potty app. Little did they know that this was going to be our number one {see what I did there} tool in our arsenal.

The first thing we did was create Ben on the app. I let him pick out his hair, face shape, and clothes. I wanted him involved with this from the get go. I needed to get him invested in this whole potty training thing.

Then we started practicing the potty steps with engaging interactions like pulling down your diaper, sitting and waiting on the potty, going to the potty, flushing the potty and washing hands. We started doing this at every diaper change to get into the routine.

Ben’s absolute favorite are the games! From matching to puzzles, there are 5 potty related games to choose from.

Go ahead and take a guess as to which is his favorite game? Yup! Target practice!

But my favorite is the sticker chart. I try to be paperless as much as I can and this is just another way to not have a paper chart around the house. Sure a paper sticker chart does come in handy but there have been quite a few times I caught Ben trying to add some stickers on his own!

Now that we are getting serious with potty training again, we are utilizing this app every day from the sticker chart to singing the songs and letting him play the games!

The Me-ify Potty Star app is available on iTunes for $1.99 {well worth the price!}.

  1. I am right there with you. We were basically 100% trained and then the baby was born. Now we are only 5% trained because he wants to be the baby, too. 🙁 This app looks helpful!

  2. Great ideas. Jude is still struggling with accidents every once in a while. I just hope that Teagan is our easy one!! Thanks for sharing!

  3. Potty training is so tough with boys. It’s like one step ahead, two steps back. Any resources like this are fantastic! Thanks for sharing.
