I am going to admit something, friends. Every year, I forget to make the Easter Baskets until the last minute. Maybe it’s because Easter isn’t a set date and changes year to year. I feel like Easter always sneaks up on me.

But when I do remember, I quickly get those baskets together and they are ready Easter morning. You see, I have a system. I know what I am going to fill their baskets with so I can grab and go when I am at the store.

Don’t forget the candy. As much as I would love to skip the candy all together and put together a non-candy Easter Basket, the kids would be sad if there wasn’t some candy in there. You can stock up on your Easter candy at Kmart with great deals like the ones below.

Get creative. I love to put some arts and crafts in their Easter Baskets. My kids seem to fly through crayons (or maybe they lose them) so I always put a box of crayons, blank paper, and stickers in their basket.

The great outdoors. Another standard in our Easter Basket is outdoor toys and activities. From kites to sidewalk chalk, we gear up for warmer weather with our Easter Basket. Other fun filers are bubbles, squirt guns, and foam balls. All things that we go through a lot when the weather gets nicer.

Read a good book. Now, that my boys are avid readers, I throw in a good book in their basket. Maybe it’s the next book in the series they are reading or a funny book I know they’ve looking for. Encourage reading by filling their basket with a good book!

The key to putting together a great Easter Basket is to know what your kids love or need! It’s easy to just grab things to have something to put in the basket. But if you take a few minutes to really put some thought into it, you can create an Easter Basket that both you and your kids will love!
