Ready for Spring with Sally Hansen #IHeartMyNailArt
Part of my Mom Style 2.0 has been trying to stay polished. Literally. I don’t know what it is about having clean and freshly painted nails that make you feel put together. I was so excited when I was asked to create a fun Spring color block look with Sally Hansen nail polish.
Before I headed to Walgreens.com to do a little shopping {you can view more of my shopping trip in my Google+ story}, I hit Pinterest for a little inspiration. I finally narrowed it down to these two looks. The color really stood out and I am a sucker for glitter!
When I had my colors picked out, I headed over to Walgreens.com to order my new nail polish. Sally Hansen Extreme and Salon Effects are on sale for 2 for $5 with 1,000 Balance Reward points now through April 27, 2013. This is a great sale to stock up on nail polish so I made sure to take advantage of it.
I filled my cart with some fun spring colors!
Now when it comes to painting my own nails, I have to admit I am not the best. But, I have found that having everything set out and ready {and having the tops screwed off} will help eliminate some smudging. I am notorious for getting to the last nail and smudging one! I always have an orange stick to help remove stray nail polish on my cuticles. Cleaning it up as it happens helps make a clean line!
Now that I had my little manicure station set up, I was ready to go! I combined Sally Hansen Crush and Hot Magenta {with a hint of sparkle, Strobe Light} for my Spring color block nail art!

They are a little fun but nothing over the top! Just enough.
How are you getting your nails ready for Spring?

I seriously have no nails but totally loving your color choices!
My nails are finally growing and not breaking! I am sure I just jinxed it!
Ohhh I LOVE the gold sparklies!!
Can you believe that I have had acrylic nails since I was a freshman in highschool…!? I literally can not tell you when the last time was that I painted my own nails. 1997 maybe? LOL
I used to have acrylics in HS but they damaged my nails so bad. I had to stop!
Very cute! I can never keep my nails polished… Nervous habit of picking at the polish lol!
I have that habit too. One chip and I start picking! The polish never lasts long with me!
I am terrible with keeping my nails painted. I have better luck with my toes and since I live near the beach, they are often as visible as my hands. I’ll have to give this a try soon!
My toes last a lot longer than my fingers! I have to update my toe polish too to match my new spring look!
Always looking for new colors to add to our stash! I’m terrible with my fingernails, but have some OCD need to have my toes polished pretty all summer at the beach. 🙂
I always need to have my toes polished! But this winter I did give them a break. They are covered up after all!
What great colors! I think I need a manicure!
Thanks!
2 for $5 is a great deal! I LOVE Sally Hansen nail polishes! Grey Area is my favorite from their line, but the Magenta you picked is beautiful!
It really is! And I love stocking up on fun nail polishes!
I’m terrible about painting my fingernails though I love putting polish on my toenails. I love your extra bit of sparkle!
I have gotten better with my nails but I still smudge one or two!
I’m a big cheater and I have acrylics! I have them done every two weeks. Right now I have hot pink polish but I can’t wait to try all the new gorgeous spring colors out there! I love the beachy colors so much!
I used to do acrylics but I can’t do them anymore!
I have small nails, but if I had nails like yours, I’d love to do the glitter stripe you did in your first photo. Super cute!
This post reminded me that I need to get my toes ready for spring sandals. Thanks!
Nice color choices:) I am in love with orange hues these days!
Love those colors and I have that same sparkle polish. I use it over a lot of my colors!
