Respect the Turkey
Every year, I vow to respect the turkey. Every year, I find it harder to resist the urge to jump in Christmas mode after Halloween. The kiddo isn’t helping things either. He sees the commercials. He sees the decorations in the store.ย Just this past week, he begged me to start decorating. I explained to him that it was just too early. That wasn’t good enough because, you know, the tires are decorated before the candy hits the treat bags.
He finally came up with a plan to get me in Christmas mode. ย He asked for a small Christmas tree for his room. He promised to be a good boy and flashed his cutesy smile.
I caved.
But I swear I’m stopping there. Not another decoration is going up until at least Black Friday.
I also may or may not have been singing Christmas songs the other night on the way home. This is very out of character for me. Again, I blame the kid because he started singing first and how could I resist the cuteness. And I blame the radio stations for starting to play Christmas music already!
I love the little christmas tree in his room! Its hard not to start getting in the christmas spirit when the music is playing in stores and commercials on tv!
OH I am with lil man. But hubby insists we wait till after Thanksgiving. My mom however is having us make sure her stuff is in her house before Thanksgiving day because she is going to get us all to do her decorating while we are there for dinner.. she is tricky I tell ya
I have had the Christmas music playing for the last month, so you aren’t alone. ๐ I planned on waiting until after Black Friday, but I think I am going to (try to) decorate this weekend.
I also bought a tree for my girls’ room last year. Great minds think alike! ๐
i begged the hubs to get the stuff out yesterday, he refused. told me absolutely not until at LEAST next fri ๐
i love his little tree ๐
That’s my girl ๐
We do not have any decorations up yet, but I have tuned to the Holiday music channel in the car already. We might put lights up outside this weekend just because the weather will be so nice, but they will NOT be turned on until Dec 1st!
After my son begged for two weeks and asked when we were getting our tree up I caved. We have our tree up, some stuff on the tv stand, a couple strings of lights. More will be coming but for now…we are not respecting the turkey very well and I hate people who start after halloween but I couldn’t resist his little face!
My husband’s company sells Christmas decor but we celebrate Hanukkah! All year long he has Santas, reindeer and other decorations out in his home office!
