Summertime can really make or break the bank for our household. Between the kids being off from school and me traveling to conferences, there are plenty of opportunities for the money to fly out the window.
But, there are also a lot of opportunities for me to find ways to save some money! Finding these creative ways to save money can become like a game. Now I know why those extreme couponers love getting a good deal!
1. Discounted movies. Many movie theaters offer discounted movies in the summer, like the Regal $1 Movie series. Not only does this get us out of the house, but I also get a little peace and quiet for about 2 hours. If you don’t splurge on a huge tub of popcorn and drinks, this can be a fairly cheap morning out with the kids.
2. Hit up the local library. Our local library has an amazing summer series this year. From Movie Monday to Make and Take Tuesdays to Story Time picnics, there is always something going on. And the best part? FREE.
3. Keep an eye on Groupon and Living Social. There are a ton of great summer deals to be had on sites like Groupon and Living Social. I’ve purchased discounted parking and local attraction memberships at extremely discounted rates. In fact, had I not purchased the discounts, we probably would not have gone anywhere!
4. Learn the tricks at your favorite places. We all know that I am a Starbucks junkie but that can really add up! So, I learned some tricks and tips so that I can still grab my favorite drink at Starbucks and save some money. Check out my money saving Starbucks tips!
