When it comes to Thanksgiving, we often forget about eating throughout the day. After all, we are prepping the turkey and all the sides and yummy desserts. There’s no time for lunch! While we may not want to eat to save room for the feast, we need a little something to get us through the day.

This is especially important if you have house guests. Of course, they see you slaving in the kitchen for the fantastic dinner but it’s nice to have a little something for them to nosh on while they wait. It doesn’t have to take up too much time to prepare them a little something. The key is to plan ahead and have some essentials in your freezer.

This year, I took two favorites and mashed them together. Frozen pizza and salad mix. In about 20 minutes, this Sicilian Garden Pizza will satisfy your guests hunger.

Sicilian Garden Pizza

To make this quick and easy appetizer, you will need CALIFORNIA PIZZA KITCHEN® Crispy Thin Crust Oven Ready Pizza, Sicilian Style, bagged Spring Salad Mix, plum tomatoes, and a block of Parmesan cheese.

Bake the pizza according to the directions on the box (400 degrees for 16-17 minutes). While your pizza is baking, wash your salad mix, slice your tomatoes and grate some cheese.

When you pizza is ready, let cool for about 10 minutes. For this appetizer, you do not want it piping hot. It will wilt the salad!

Top your pizza with the salad mix, tomatoes, and, finally, the cheese.

Slice and serve to guests! This Sicilian Garden Pizza is a fun twist on two traditional meals: salad and pizza. Save some time and combine them together! It’s also a great way to add some greens to your holiday meal. Grab all of your ingredients the next time you are shopping at WalMart!
