This summer is all about getting together with friends! We have instituted a Friday deck night with our neighbors where we rotate who hosts. This means I need to have a lot of drinks and snacks on hand to entertain. It also means that we have a lot of soda cans laying around. We do recycle but I still feel bad throwing all those soda cans out. So I started searching on Pinterest to see if there was something else we could do to upcycle our cans.
That’s when I spied these soda can cuff bracelets!
They are really easy to make and would be fun to wear at your next barbecue! In fact, I wore mine this past Friday night and now my friends want one for themselves!
Ready to make your own? Here’s how!
Soda Can Cuff Bracelets
First you will need an empty soda can (rinse with water and dry out), scissors, and large pencil.
Start by poking a hole at the top of your can. You can want to make sure you stay as close to the rounded top as possible. Cut the top off.
Cut down the back of the can where the barcode and nutritional facts are. Cut off the bottom of the can.
Using a straight edge, fold over the sides of the can. This will prevent you from being cut or clothes being snagged on the edges of the can.
Use the pencil to smooth out the edges.
Continue until all four edges are folded and smoothed out.
Next, flip your can over and smooth out.
Using a pillow as your base, roll the pencil over the can. This will help roll your bracelet into shape.
And there you have it! Your very own soda can cuff bracelet.
