Sorry for the delay.

I know I promised an update when I got back from the MFM, but when I came home, I napped, then E came home and then life happened. But better late than never right?

So the MFM was very optimistic about future pregnancies. Yes, I am taking a risk (20-25% that I will have some form of preeclampsia in my future pregnancies) but I will be heavily monitored and most likely, be on bed rest the moment my blood pressure starts to rise. After talking it over, the hubster and I agree that it is a risk that we are willing to take.

I also discussed with the MFM if I should be tested for an underlying condition that might have contributed to the HELLP. He said that I have no genetic indicators that would suggest that I should get a ton of blood work. Thank maude!

We also discussed if there were any long term effects on me (or the baby for that matter). He said that current research suggests new. However, the syndrome is relatively new so the long term studies are still taking place. Again, I think I’ll take the risk.

Now you are probably wondering when that is all going to take place. Well I guess, you are going to have to stay tuned in to find out!
