Take It Off: A Family Affair {Week Six}
Medifast | Week Six
When I started Medifast, I made it well known to the hubster that I was not going to be cooking multiple meals every night. That we, as a family, would be having a Lean and Green meal together. And so far, it has been a great success.
E is such picky eater {as are the hubster and I}. But, I’m slowly breaking this habit of ours. We have been trying new vegetables and finding that we really do like a lot of thing. E has been trying all kinds of different things that he wouldn’t have ever given a second look at before. I have also been more aware of what he is eating and making sure that his meals are balanced. He is by no means on a diet. We are just making better choices for him.
I also was on a mission to find some children’s books that talked about eating healthy. When we went to the library, I found “I Do Not Like Greens.” It was the perfect book for E! It’s about a little girl who does not like to eat her greens but her father makes her. However, the dog gets all the junk. In the end, she realizes that the junk food makes the dog sick and weak while her greens make her fast and strong! E loves reading it and I am contemplating purchasing it for our home library.
As for the hubster, he is seeing some results as well. He told me that he’s moved his belt over at least 2 holes! And this weekend? He jeans were falling off of him…with a belt! Those damn men and their quick weight losses. I encouraged him to jump on the scale so we could track his progress as well. He has no clue what he weighs and how much he might have lost!
Since I started this journey, I have had to really revaulate what we were eating as a family and branch out. If I didn’t branch out and try new things, I would be eating the same boring thing {i.e., salad} every night. I think that would have been a huge turn off for the program and I wouldn’t be where I am now.
So far I have tried…
- Mashed Cauliflower
- Zucchini
- Yellow Squash
- Broccoli
- Peppers
- Spaghetti Squash

Rock on! 15 lbs is fabulous, congratulations! I’m sure you’re feeling awesome. That’s also great about your hubby, mine has lost close to 20 lbs since January 1 just by eating the healthy food I am cooking and adding some exercise to his daily routine. We are both enjoying trying new Medifast approved recipes. Spaghetti Squash is one of our all-time favorite vegetables now!
I am totally finding that book at our local library! Thanks for sharing!
Keep up the good work!!
