Thank You!

I wanted to take the time to say thank you again to everyone who took the time to pledge and/or walk with Team Ethang for the March for Babies this past April. To date, Team Ethang has raised $1,315!!! We clearly exceeded our measly goal of $500. I couldn’t believe all the support, especially with how hard times are right now. Every dollar truly counted!

I received a thank you letter in the mail yesterday from our community director. Included with the thank you was the official 2009 Pennsylvania Mission Investment. I thought I would pass along to everyone exactly where your money went.

In Pennsylvania, over $3.3 million will be invested in mission programs in 2009.

The Wistar Institute ~ $150,000
Thomas Jefferson University ~ $300,176
University of Pennsylvania ~ $1,531,189 (5 grants)
Magee-Womens Research Institute (University of Pittsburgh) ~ $543,407 (2 grants)
Pennsylvania State University ~ $150,000

There are also many Pennsylvania Community grants that have been awarded. They include:

Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh ~ $20,000
Lancaster General Hospital Clinic ~ $15,875
Mainline Health – Lankenau ~ $10,000
Temple University Health Behavior Clinic ~ $20,000

As you can see, your money has stayed in the general area (and state). This is one of the great things that I love so much about the March of Dimes. Your money is going to help people in your backyard.

Team Ethang will be walking again in the 2010 March for Babies Walk. I plan on fundraising early (with some possible fun fundraisers). However, you can still contribute to this year’s walk. Just visit our team page here. More information about next year’s walk will be coming soon!
