The Christmas Web
We’ve all heard about the Elf on the Shelf and participated in all of the shenanigans. It’s fun but I am already looking to start a new holiday tradition. Recently, I was given the opportunity to review The Christmas Web. I know it’s only April but it’s never too early to start planning your next Christmas tradition.
Since the Elf on the Shelf was a great addition to our family tradition at Christmas time, I thought this might as well. After receiving the gift set and reading the story, I know that this will be another great family tradition to incorporate next Christmas. We just did a scavenger hunt for Easter baskets this weekend and it went over really well. It was exciting and helped prolong Easter morning. I think The Christmas Web will do the same! Especially when Ethan realizes that he is looking for his most special Christmas gift!
This is also a great way to tie in the Christmas elf. Not only does he report if you’ve been naughty or nice, but he also brings you are your favorite gift!
What is The Christmas Web?
Kerry J. Grinkmeyer started the Christmas Web in 1992 to create an exciting Christmas morning experience for his children. This tradition turned into The Christmas Web – A Family Tradition which contains a storybook that tells a Christmas tale about how the Christmas Web came to be.
The story is about how the child’s Christmas elf looks over them throughout the year to find out what their most desire holiday gift is. Three spools of yarn, which are magic wands, are provided with the gift set. The Christmas elf uses the yarn to create a web of Christmas cheer throughout the house {windows, door knobs, chairs, doors}. This web leads to a closet or cabinet that will hold their special gift form their Christmas elf.
On Christmas morning, the kids follow the web that their Christmas elf made to their special gifts!
