Tuckerton Seaport Bluegrass & Barbecue Festival

This past weekend, I was invited down to the Tuckerton Seaport for their annual Bluegrass and Barbecue Festival. The weather wasn’t really cooperating with a misty rain that made for a horrible hair day but it was still a really great time!

The first time I visited Tuckerton Seaport was after Hurricane Sandy. It was great to see the progress that has been made on the island but there’s still a lot of work that needs to be done! Despite all of that, the Tuckerton Seaport is open for business and are coming back bigger and better for the summer of 2013!

We started our day visiting Todd’s Musical Petting Zoo. With over 100 instruments for the kids to try, there was truly something for everyone! It may have been a little loud in there but the kids {and parents} were definitely having fun!

After we got our groove on, it was time to taste the amazing barbecue! And it was amazing! I could have stood next to the grill all day just smelling the wonderful scents coming from the vendors.

After our bellies were full, it was time for a tour of the Seaport and all it has to offer. There is seriously so much to do there! From the lighthouse to the surf museum to mini-golf to a playground, the kids will definitely not be able to say they are bored!

After the tour, I wondered around their boardwalk and was drawin into all of the little things at the Seaport. I couldn’t stop snapping away!

I will be headed back to the Tuckerton Seaport in a few weeks for their Privateers & Pirates Festival on June 8th. The boys are coming with me and I know they are going to have a blast!
