Upcycled Little Monsters
One thing that the boys and I don’t do much of are crafts. I don’t know why. I love crafting but for some reason it’s just not something they ask to do. But when they do? We love to get creative and use things from around the house.
I had a bunch of oatmeal and stuffing containers that I was going to throw out. Instead, we painted and decorated them to look like Monsters. I loved doing this activity with Ethan. He really used his imagination making his monsters!
Upcycled Little Monsters
- Empty Containers {i.e., Oatmeal, Stuffing, Raisins}
- Poster Paints
- Pipe cleaners, googly eyes, foam shapes {whatever you have laying around!}
1. First we cleaned out the containers and removed the labels. Let me tell you removing some of the labels was difficult! They were really glued on there.
2. Next, we painted our containers. It took a few coats to get a nice even color. Make sure you let it dry in between coats.
3. When your containers are dry {we let ours dry over night}, decorate!
There are so many ways you could use these and fit them into any holiday or season. These would make adorable turkeys for Thanksgiving. Just add a few feathers on the back!
