UPMC Anywhere Care for You and Your Family

This is a sponsored post in partnership with The Motherhood on behalf of UPMC Health Plan.

If your Facebook feed looks anything like mine, you know that we are in peak cold and flu season! Almost everyone I know has a sick child or is sick themselves. For whatever reason, this season seems to be a rough one.

When my kids get hit with a sickness, it’s really hard for me to see them so sick. But sometimes, it can be difficult to get into the pediatrician’s office during this time of year. You wait forever just to get a hold of someone to make an appointment and, if you are lucky, you may get an appointment that same day. When you have a sick kid on your hands, you just want them to get well and quickly.

There has to be a better way! And there is. Enter UPMC AnywhereCare. With UPMC Anywhere Care, you can quickly and directly connect to a healthcare professional, without ever leaving home.

The flu can spread quickly, but fortunately, downloading the app is even quicker! With UPMC AnywhereCare, you can see a medical professional on any device as quick as you can login.

UPMC Anywhere Care is a real-time video consultation with a quality health care provider, via a video capable mobile phone or tablet via an app download, or via a desktop webcam. UPMC AnywhereCare is available by downloading an app to a video-capable mobile phone/tablet or accessing via web with laptop or desktop webcam. The UPMC Anywhere Care app is free to download and it’s free to sign up for an account (and you can win a thermometer when you sign up by March 5!). Visits start at $49, but for those with UPMC Health Plan, the cost is often lower and similar to the cost of a PCP co-pay.

UPMC AnywhereCare is offered to anyone in the state of PA, and they will be able to see a UPMC health care provider. If they are outside of PA, they can still use the service and see health care professionals staffed from American Well (Online Care Group). Anywhere Care is an alternative to urgent care, retail clinics and ED visits for non-emergent conditions.

Common visits fall into the following diagnoses:

  • Sinusitis
  • Upper respiratory infection
  • Bronchitis
  • Urinary tract infection
  • Conjunctivitis
  • Cough
  • Allergies

UPMC Health Plan is giving away digital thermometers to help parents during cold and flu season, along with instructions on how to download and use the UPMC AnywhereCare app. Those who make a free UPMC AnywhereCare account by March 5 are automatically entered to win.
