Why You Should Drink More Water

Drinking water is so important but can be a major challenge for a lot of people. There are plenty of reasons to drink more water.

I will admit that drinking enough of water throughout the day is a major challenge for myself. It is something that I have always struggled with.

And I know that I should be drinking more water. I find that when I drink enough water throughout the day, I feel better and look better.

There are a few ways that I get myself to drink more water throughout the day. The number way is what I actually drink the water out of. I have to drink my water ice cold which means I need a well insulated cup to do that! Also, I have found that water goes down faster when you use a straw.

Ask any VSCO girl and they will tell you that a stainless steel water bottle and reusable straw are a must! I knew I was a VSCO girl at heart. Below are some of my favorite insulated cups and reusable straw.

Now that you have your favorite water bottle and straw ready to go, it’s time to get drinking! Here is why you should drink more water.

Why You Should Drink More Water

Weight Loss.  Drinking water may help with weight loss, especially if you are replacing sugary drinks with water. Remember, water has zero calories so load up on your water and avoid sodas and juices. “Preloading” with water before meals will also fill up your stomach so that you feel full and reduce your hunger.

Healthier Skin. Drinking more water moisturizes your skin keeping it fresh, glowing, and smooth! I definitely notice a difference in my skin when I’m properly hydrated.

More energy! Who doesn’t need that, right? Your brain is mostly water, so drinking water helps keep you focused and alert. It also helps boost your energy levels!

Get rid of your headaches. A symptom of dehydration is headaches. A lot of times, our headaches are caused by being dehydrated. I know this is the case for me most times.

It projects your joints, spinal cord, and tissues.  Water consumption helps lubricate and cushion your joints, spinal cord, and tissues. This will help you enjoy physical activity and lessen discomfort caused by conditions like arthritis.

It reduces the chance of a hangover. When partying, unsweetened soda water with ice and lemon alternated with alcoholic drinks can help prevent over-consumption of alcohol.

Your body needs it! You could go 4-8 weeks without food. But without water? You would only last about a week!

Do you have a hard time drinking all your water?
