World Vision Gifts that Make a Difference {Giveaway}
This holiday season, let the scarf around your neck, the ornaments on your tree, or the wooden serving spoons on your table be conversation starters. What’s the topic? Children and families in impoverished communities and solving the challenges they are facing, such as access to food, clean water, education, and more.
How can a clothing accessory or table decoration contribute to this dialog? When gift-givers make a holiday donation through World Vision’s Maximum Impact Fund, the gift is used where it’s most needed, tackling some of the world’s greatest challenges.
This is World Vision’s 17th annual edition of the catalog. Since 1996 the catalog’s popularity as a gift-giving alternative has grown with more than 160,000 purchases last year raising over $33 million that helped more than 825,000 people around the world! Goats remain the most popular item –more than 67,000 goats were given to families around the world in 2011. You can purchase a goat for only $75!
With a donation of $25 or more the donor receives a free gift to wear, carry, use or give to a loved one. Most of the Maximum Impact Fund items available in the catalog are made by micro-enterprising artisans around the world and the sale proceeds directly benefit their communities.
The World Vision Gift Catalog is packed with wonderful gifts! My favorites include:
- Beautiful beaded ornaments
- Hand-carved serving spoons
- Silk scarf
When I got the beaded ornaments in the mail, I was so impressed! They are absolutely stunning! The set of 3 ornaments are handmade Zakale wire & bead ornaments from Nairobi. Zakale crafts are made from recycled materials by Kenyan artisans, who received a loan from World Vision to grow their business and lift themselves out of poverty.
Aren’t they stunning?You know you want a set, don’t you. Well…
One lucky reader is going to win a set of the beautiful beaded ornaments {available for a donation of $150}.

Four ducks and a goat for $99 sounds like a deal. I need to remember to keep this on our list for next year. So much better than giving junk people don’t need.
