your three words
I’m spoiled. Even though I had a snow day this week {and last Friday off}, I am so looking forward to this three day weekend. Kinda.
The hubster and I decided its time to start getting ready for baby boy. We have so many things to do.
- The guest room needs cleaned out {this will probably take the next 3 months}. This room is a disaster. For the past 5 years, it has served as its intended purpose but lately it’s been used as storage. Which brings me to #2.
- Wall off part of the basement for storage. We toyed with the idea of renting a storage unit but it’s not in the budget. We have a good amount of space in the basement that isn’t being used for entertainment but for storage. The hubster decided he was going to put a wall up so it’s hidden and we have a large storage area {a lot bigger than a storage unit}.
- Paint the guest room and move in the furniture. The guest room will now become E’s big boy room. He already picked out the paint {Buzz Blaster Blue} and his new bedding {you guessed it, Toy Story}. We are using my childhood bedroom set for furniture and it’s just sitting at my parent’s house waiting for us.
- Sort through all of E’s old stuff. I started going through the boxes and boxes of baby clothes. I’ve pulled out things that I didn’t care for the first time around and then placed the others in a pile to be washed. This is actually a fun thing for me to do but there is so much stuff to go through!
- Clean the rest of the house. I always complain that my house is a disaster. And it is. I won’t lie. Let’s not even talk about the clothes mountain in my bedroom. But this is getting tackled this weekend.
Since we have a lot to do {and I’m sure I missed a lot}, we decided we would ship E off to my parent’s tonight for a sleepover and tackle as much as we can tomorrow. We would like to be able to scratch number 1 off the list so that is our main priority.
I intend to use this three day weekend to my advantage. More time to get stuff done but also more time for me to relax as well. Even though I am feeling a little guilty, I may even send E to daycare Monday to get more stuff done but, more importantly, to have a little time to myself.
We’ll see what the weekend brings!
