I participated in the Mom Blog Tour at the Summer Fancy Food Show on behalf of Wendy’s Bloggers and received John Wm. Macy’s Cheesesticks products to facilitate my review.
Caterer and Chef John Macy founded John Wm. Macy’s CheeseSticks back in 1985 in New York City. Since then, they have produced over 7,000 tons of CheeseSticks, CheeseCrisps and SweetSticks! CheeseSticks, CheeseCrisps and SweetSticks are distributed nationwide and can be found in many of the country’s finest gourmet, natural and specialty stores, supermarket chains, luxury hotels and online at cheesesticks.com.
Now when we got to the booth, I knew there would be CheeseSticks in just about every cheese flavor imaginable. What I wasn’t prepared for were the sweet sticks!
And, naturally, I was drawn right to the Java Cinnamon CheeseSticks. I know what you are thinking. “A java cinnamon CheeseStick?” Yes, a java cinnamon CheeseStick. This has easily became my favorite out of all of the flavors. It’s perfect to dip into your tea or coffee in the morning.
But what about all of those other flavors? Can we do more with them than just eat them in their stick form? You betcha! In fact, I have been having a lot of fun thinking of different ways to use these in my meals. I wanted to try something different with my CheeseSticks. I’ve made green bean fries in the past and they were a family hit. So why not try it with another veggie?
Turning veggies into fries is a great way to get the kids to eat their veggies! This time I paired zucchini with John Wm. Macy’s Garlic Romano CheeseSticks. Simply, cut up your zucchini in strips to resemble fries. Next, place your CheeseSticks into a food processor to pulse into bread crumbs. Dip your zucchini sticks into beaten eggs and then cover with crushed CheeseSticks. Place on baking sheet and bake at 350 degrees for 15-20 minutes or until golden. Serve with buttermilk ranch or marinara sauce. These work great as a side dish or even an after-school snack! If you are looking for more ways to use your John Wm. Macy’s CheeseSticks, check out ABCs & Garden Pea’s Cheesey Brussels Sprouts Gratin and See Mom Click’s Cheddar CheeseSticks Breaded Chicken. Basically, you can use the CheeseSticks in replacement for bread crumbs for an extra cheesy kick!
