Mess-Free Road Trip Snacks
We’re having a mess-free summer with the help of Jif™Bars as part of a sponsored post for Socialstars. #TeamJif
We have one week left and summer and we are making the most of it! Even though I know we did a lot of stuff this summer, I feel like we could have done more. As I counted down the days until school ended, I thought the summer would feel drag one and I would be longing for the kids to go back to school. Instead, it flew on by and I am trying to find ways to soak up as much of summer as we can in this last week.
Up first? The boys and I are hitting the road for a little Mom & Son road trip. This was a very last minute trip that I booked on a whim last Friday. We are headed up to Westchester, New York to check out the Legoland Discovery Center. I have already pre-warned them that this will not be like our trip to Legoland Florida and they shouldn’t be expecting anything like that. Let’s hope they remember that.
As I am quickly packing for our trip, I know that road trip snacks are a must. I don’t know why but it seems like when we are in the car for more than 45 minutes everyone is constantly hungry. Since I am cleaning the car out in preparation for our trip, mess-free snacks are a must!
Mess-Free Road Trip Snacks
The first on my mess-free road trip snack list are Creamy Peanut Butter Jif™ Bars. Jif Bars are made with the Jif peanut butter you know and love and combine creamy Jif peanut butter and a chewy granola bar. They are perfect for snacking on the go and leaving the mess at home.
String cheese is another great mess-free snack that we all love, both in the car and out. The only mess you have is the wrapper so don’t forget to bring a plastic bag for trash!
You know goes well with string cheese? Grapes! I always throw a bunch in a container and it’s almost a guarantee that they will be gone before we reach our destination. If we are eating grapes, I like to make sure we have some hands wipes on hand just in case they get a little sticky.
Now that I have all my snacks ready to go, I need to pack them up. I have a little obsession with making caddies to help simplify our lives. The boys have a homework caddy and I have a mobile work station caddy. It should come as no surprise that I have one for eating in the car.
This caddy has saved my backseat from being strewn with empty wrappers or spilled food. I fill the caddy up with snacks and drinks and set it in between the boys. They can both reach what they want and I don’t have to try to hand out snacks from the front seat. This is a big help, especially when I am driving!
If you are traveling and you don’t need snacks, you could also use the caddy to hold books, coloring books, crayons, and small toys!
